New old Website

Well I've got my website back online: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/sr-republic As soon as I've dusted down the scanner and got it to work I'll be putting up some new artwork

Dusty CD

In an attempt at motivation I've been looking through some of my old artwork. I found a CD full of stuff I'd completely forgotten about, so here are a few pics... First up - a villian from something I was planning at the time... 'Dr Ernest Villeye - Mad Scientist MD'

Yes, after IK decided to close its digital branch (and the piracy problems...) we sort of felt we might as well put th comic on hold for now. Since it wasn't getting any exposure anyway (4 issues sold in 6 months!) it seemed a better move to send out the strips to professional publishers and see if we get any takers there.

If any of the strips get rejected enough times, there's always the option of ressurecting the comic. It still served a purpose in that it got me, Tony and Dave Thomson quite apt at working to deadlines, and it also gave me some knowledge of how PDF's are put together (which'll help with the digital Temple).

Heya John,

the full Backtrack strip appeared in 100% Biodegradable issue 2. I'm fairly sure I sent you a link to a copy when it came out. Let me know if you didn't get it and I'll try resend the PDF to you when I get the chance.

I did read about the game John, but it's news to me about the film going into a tailspin.

Why a talented director like George Miller's trying to bring the Justice League to big screen when he could resurrect the Rockatansky is a mystery.

Maybe after Stallone as Rambo and the rumour of the return of Dirty Harry http://breakingnews.iol.ie/entertainment/story.asp?j=249967066&p=z4996777z things might get moving on a revival of eighties action heroes.

A lovely job regarding the Mc2 blog, might there be any news or imagery regarding Mad Max IV ?

I get the impression it's grounded.

Brendan got in touch at Christmas and started sending me enough stuff to keep a Blog going for months, so I put one together. There's quite a bit of movie stuff coming up, including some stunning designs from Thunderbirds.

Ah, drawing a strip. You know what, Dave I may just finish one of your strips this year - but I'm afraid not in time for issue 4

Nice to see the Brendan Mccarthy site's had an overhaul. I didn't know he'd been involved in Sweeny Todd.

Hope all's going well with you. Mobile Combat will have to go on the backburner for now, due to technical issues - though the Headcheeze strips could still do with a revamp if ever you get the chance.

The next issue of Biodegradable is shaping up a treat. Any chance of doing Job for Life for issue 4? The deadline's end of April.

Ah, I see. Is that recent work or from a while back? I like the first batch of designs best (the one with 3 figures and 5 facial close-ups) - very polished pictures.

The site's looking very festive, by the way. Nice one!

Nice to see you back, John.

What are these new character designs in aid of? I like them - I want to own the action figure and shoot stuff with it!

100% Biodegradable Issue 2 will be finished in the next few days - expect a link to your copy soon.
