Scream Fanzine looking for contributors.

Hullo folks.

For those of you who remember that classic 80's horror comic 'Scream', here's a bit of news that might interest you from http://www.backfromthedepths.co.uk

'The legend of Scream continues to live on in the hearts of fans and horror
enthusiasts of all ages. The dedicated Forum members are currently working to produce a tribute comic based on Scream and are looking for Artists and Writers to contribute to the cause. Join the discussion today in the Freaky Forum or check out the latest Fan Artwork & Stories. Be careful, it's Not for the Nervous!'

Any takers?

I'm a sucker for a good horror yarn (or a bad one, for that matter) so I reckon I'll get writing a short contribution soon. If anyone fancies illustrating whatever deranged madness I'm able to come up with then let me know. Or see what scripts John Owens (one of the folk behind the project) already has available.

Yo Dave

The one I remember is The Thirteenth Floor with Max, mainly after it merged with Eagle. Let me know if you're doing anything with that dodgy computer.

Yes, the 13th Floor is also the one I remember most. I'm going to have to re-read all the comics when I go back to my parents house next week (providing they haven't set fire to them in my absence or anything) and refamiliarise myself with the stories.

Thanks for spreading the word, Dave.

If anyone is interested in writing or drawing, drop by at the message boards. We do need help to get the tribute comic kick-started. So I'm looking at you. ;)

We can't use any copyrighted characters from Scream! i.e. Max from The Thirtheen Floor. But we can use characters like Dracula and WitchFinder General Matthew Hopkins. Egmont, the current copyright holders, has warned us. I know, it is a bummer.

Well, even if we can't use the old characters I'm sure we can still do new strips that convey the same Scream feeling. Will get working on something soon.

Cheers for joining us, John

(that makes the current score Johns 4, Daves 2. Though both sides are being given a thorough trouncing by the Scotsmen)

I've written a Dracula storyline and it is being drawn at the moment. I'm still using a Russian vampire hunter only his name is Malkov and he's younger. He is backed by a older man nicknamed "The Colonel". ;) No one knows his real name and he mainly stays in the shadows unless his help is really needed.

Instead of just Dracula, I have added a few more vampire characters. Yep, I'm keeping it under wraps for now until we see how well the tribute comic is received.

Aye, I'm getting all mysterious and the like. :)

Nice. I absolutely loved this comic and still have the 18 issues stored away, nice and safe in a binder. I wished it had carried on... still, inspiration to do comics came forth.
