templeapa

I remember quite well the nights spent organising pages upon pages of photocopied comics into neat piles. My god, so thats what i used to do before the internet. I have been in contact with various Temple members since then, but FAILED quite successfully to loose contact again.

Since the days of posting huge parcels at the local village post office, i have now gotten older, spent some time in the real world of Graphics and Illustration, and live role played the lives of kings, goblins, cyberpunk camera men, pick pockets and peasants. And where has it gotten me?.... no where really, but i think perhaps i have a lot more interesting stories to tell now that i'm older. It is just now a question of finding ways to tell them.

I used to use an old Mac computer to add lil wizzy bits on my comics for the Temple APA. In reality it would just give my comics a block 8bit feel. Now Apple have become one of the Coolest things on the planet and ive grown up using their machines not only to do my art, but to help with al manner of creative areas. This includes comics, illustration, web, video, music and animation.

I started drawing comics because i had a story to tell and it was the only way i knew best to do it. Since then the internet has opened so many new doors to so many new people, in many ways the internet became the GIANT ALL POWERFUL TEMPLE APA. So to stumble back onto the original Temple APA has filled me with nostalgic memories of those days when it was not so easy to find others with the same enthusiasm in creating comics.

To be honest, to see it here as a NING community, is perfect for continuing what it was originally started for. To Inspire confidence and give advice. I may not have become a comic book artist (yet) but believe the opinions and encouragement of those in the APA back then did help me in my successes as a graphics designer.

Thank you those old guys of the APA, and i hope i can finally contribute to this community again now that it is a fully fledged web 2.0 community thingy :-D

Great to have you back Lee!

I'll take a look at your art tomorrow and post comments then. Also, I'm currently venturing into the world of comics for kids, so I'm sure another collaboration between us might be on the cards in the new year if you're up for it.
