About Me:
Hello there!

Who's this Dave Hailwood lad then? Well, I'm a comedy writer who tries to work in all mediums, most noteably - TV, films, radio, comics, cartoons and animation.

I had a film on TV a while back, about killer socks attempting to take over a small student hovel in Bognor. Tried to get Spielberg interested in the movie rights, but no luck so far.

I was also shortlisted for a BBC sit-com writing competition two years ago. A few days later they put on a documentary entitled 'Death of The Sit-com'. The future did not look promising.

And so it is, with tail between my legs, I return now to the land of comics, nerds and spandex. And, though many have begged me not to, I've actually started drawing again.

Thanks for that. Yes, I thought Oink was a great idea. And it might have survived if Maxwell hadn't taken his midnight swim. Some say he was pushed. Bollocks! He was far too heavy. There was also a rumor that a whaling ship had harpooned his corpse by mistake.

That's great thanks, I'm in no rush. I will have a nose round eBay as I'll ultimately want a hard copy too.

One day I might not get excited over individual reviews... one day. ;)

Would it be possible to scan in the mention of Paragon #3 in SFX #171? I, clearly, completely missed this at the time and it is one of the few reviews of that issue. Cheers.

Yep, I know about the cover pic. I'll do a cleanup on the site next week. Went to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park on Wednesday so I'm trying to fit five days of work in to four days to make up time. So I'm a bit busy at the moment.

What I've been working on...

Been a while since I did one of them 'Blog Post' things, so I thought I'd let you know what I'm working on at the moment.

Most of my efforts of late have been going in Bulletproof' Comics direction, as Matt Yeo's been giving myself and Tony an enormous amount of support. As well as the weekly Highway Robbery webcomic that Tony's illustrating (there'll be a behind the scenes look in the upcoming Temple issue), I've been worki… Continue

COMICS, NERDS AND SPANDEX!

Well, here's my account of the Bristol Comics Expo:

As I stepped off the train at Bristol Temple Meads, the smell of spot-cream and spandex filled the air. I thought to myself ‘this must be the place…this must be Bristol International Comics Expo!’

My suspicions were confirmed when, moments later, I found myself being unexpectedly frogmarched towards the queue by a small legion of well-armed Storm troopers. As an old lady with a poodle trundled past, the person in front of me fel… Continue
