It's a bit later than planned but here is issue one -- in both hi-res and lo-res flavours
Let me know if any of the links aren't working etc...
The hi-res copy is at 150dpi. I've also put together a 300dpi version in case we decided to go for a printed/paper copy but it came in at 80 megabytes which is probably a bit too much for a downloadable version.
Love it. One thing though... You've got a link to my comicspace profile, (which I do not yet have), on page 2, instead of my myspace profile, (which actually exists).
Hey John,
Looks good, although I found that page 4 (Adam's 2nd) was larger than the rest, may want to check that.
Also, my link goes to the rubbernorc site, any chance you could change that to the kerchow site on my title page?
I just managed to download the 28mb version of the Temple...on my 56k modem!!! And it only took just under two hours!
To start with, damn fine front cover there John! I love the design, and the way it incorporates everyones artwork into it. Really nice idea.
Also, it was great to see two newcomers in the issue - Michael Crouch and Malcolm Kirk. Very enjoyable strips (Stick man had me chuckling, and the highway man strip had a nice twist which was well executed).
Lots of good stuff from the regulars a well. Nice to see some Ganjaman and Flick and Jube in there, and a wealth of Rok strips from Paul Eldridge. Very high quality contribution from Paul Harrison Davies (the revamp of the cowboy strip is progressing very nicely, and you might get to see more previews soon on his blog).
I enjoyed Adams preview of the Lazarous strip - lots of moody artwork. The page size differences are probably caused by one of the pages being in a different DPI to the rest of the comic, or something, as I found I had the same problem when putting Issue 0 together. I think I managed to get round it by making every page the same size and DPI (although making every page the same size probably won't be possible in this issues case, due to me and Tony's lengthways contriubtion).
Anyway, excellent work all round, folks! A smaller issue, but a really nice variety.
Many thanks, John K! You did a marvellous job putting it together.
Paul, yep - that's the Milk Machine that's appearing in Bunk Mates episode 2. Very much enjoyed your origins story of Biryani Rock Boy - it had me chuckling away all over again.
I'll start plugging the Temple issue 1 in a few places when I get the chance. I've put a few details up on my blog, which people are welcome to nick and paste elsewhere if they fancy doing so.
Figured that must be the Milk Machine, and yes, the design is remarkably similar as we thought it might be. It's one of my immediate plans to get my own angry milk churn sorted, think I'll stick with the design as a good example of mind melding.
I thought afterwards that the Biryani Rock Boy origin might not quite work anywhere but Rok, where people already know who he is, hopefully people can just relate to his normalness and be seduced by the whiff of cardamom.
Just seen the issue... beauty. Well impressed by the design, content and the hardwork that has gone into the ish... sorry about the page sizes... thought I'd sorted it for this ish... opps...
Started promoting it on my site and my blog... so hopefully more will see the issue... will write something on facebook and smallzone tomorrow..
Nice one and welcome to the new contributors... ;)
Will write more when I have a decent read through tomorrow...
Great issue, the design and artwork is amazing, hopefully i will be able to contribute something soon enough. i have so much to do before i can pull together a strip. my complements to all the artists in the issue, nice work.
