Yep, probably not a good idea to have the deadline over Christmas.
I think the first thing to do is count up how many pages we already have and go from there. If it’s close to 100 we could bring the deadline forward to the Birmingham Comic Con. Maybe we could colour some of the pages from ‘100% Biodegradable’. I’d love to colour one of Tony’s strips, I've still got all his strips from Biodegradable 1 at 300DPI on DVD, so just say the word.
Hey, Tony among the many thousands of pages you’ve drawn, how many are colour?
Most of Tony's strips from Biodegradable are scheduled to appear in Futurequake or Bulletproof, though the one colour strip he did (Back Track) is still available, and I'm sure he'd be happy enough for that one to go in.
We could probably also put a few of the earlier pages from Highway Robbery in there as well, as that'll be concluding at Bulletproof in December when the Temple anthology is due out. Though the problem with that strip is it's designed for the internet and runs along the page instead of down, so depending on size specs it may not fit in.
Does it matter if the same strip appears in two place? It’ll probably get seen by a larger number of people.
It would be grand to get as many past and present members’ work in the anthology as possible, a celebration of the last 13 years of the Temple. Most of them have already got a short strip so we could fill the pages up fairly rapidly. We could also have a few pages about the Temple's history etc...
If you’ve got a colour story you’d like to be included let me know.
In the case of the Marren Kane strips I'd like to give Bulletproof the exclusive on those for now as Matt Yeo's been very supportive of me and Tony.
As for the one offs, I'd like to give Dave Evans the chance to publish them first before they appear anywhere else. Once a few months have passed after publication, it shouldn't be too much of a problem to put them in a Temple anthology. Supply and Demand appeared in Futurequake 10 last month, so that might be a good candidate for you to colour up if Tony's happy for you to do so (though an eight page contribution might be a bit large if we're planning on fitting in as many members as possible. Still, I guess we can always extend the page limit if it comes to that).
I'd certainly like to see a lot of your sketches going into the anthology as I always find the wealth of imagination on display very inspiring. Occassionally they even make me want to pick up a pencil and start drawing, which is a very dangerous thing for me to do!
Regarding the bandaged one, the colour strip previewed in the last Temple might make a good contribution.
Supply and Demand would benefit from being coloured, i'm tempted to go George Lucas on certain panels (you know the ones Dave '))
I'd very much like to see what JK would do, particularly with the 'teleportation page'
and the sketches and spot illos are always a joy to behold.
Backtrack's a little too rushed for my liking, but if you need something to add to the page count please feel free.
I'd reckon it'd be easier to get another Pubba strip drawn for the Temple than try and fit the 'Robbery strip Dave. The more exposure our simian friend gets the more Technofear 'll make sense once it's ready.
Well I got a two pager script that I submitted to wasted that I've had come back, still wouldn't mind it getting done, and it would bump the page count up by a couple at least, anyone want to do the art for it? Oh yeah, it might just be a little stoner orientated. Although would Bulletproof be interested?
Sorry to hear your script was rejected by Wasted. Not sure if Bulletproof's looking for drugs related material, as the comic's more in the 'Rip-roaring action/adventure' vein.
There are a few Temple members who I'm pretty sure would be interested:
Jim Stewart is putting together a 'Ganjaman Presents' comic and is always on the lookout for drugs related material.
Also Dave Thomson is art editor for scottish drug culture mag 'Stoner' and was recently looking for strips.
They're both approachable chaps (as long as you approach them slowly, and not from behind) so feel free to see if they're interested.
Think I'll have to hunt out the adventure strips I plotted out, maybe Bulletproof would be interested, I had Platinum Studios on at me for developing one into a screenplay a few years ago, although I wasn't too happy with it after all the changes we made.
